Belief That Gunther Could Take Roman Reigns’ Role as The Face of WWE

Gunther has established himself as one of the greatest WWE Superstars of all time ever since he debuted in the company back in January 2019. In the years since he has proven to be a force to be reckoned with. Now it appears some believe that Gunther could take Roman Reigns’ role as the face of WWE.

After defeating Chand Gable on RAW this week, fans accepted the fact that Gunther was going to make history. That is what happened today as he is now the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion of all time at 454 days, surpassing The Honky Tonk Man.

While speaking on Busted Open Radio, WWE Hall Of Famer Bully Ray talked about Gunther’s Title reign dominance, which has parallels to Roman Reigns as well. When asked if Gunther could take Roman Reigns’ role as the face of WWE by becoming the Undisputed Universal Champion, Ray made it clear he firmly believes Gunther has the ability.

“Without a doubt. [A] Throwback champion.”

We will have to wait and see if Gunther will eventually become the face of WWE once Roman Reigns decides to take it easy somewhere down the line, as fans might be into the idea.
