WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle has accomplished a lot during his time in WWE, having a remarkable rookie year and going on to become a legend in the business. He gained favor with the likes of Vince McMahon, earning his trust in the process. It appears he also believes everyone was a star in the Attitude Era, unlike most WWE and AEW talent today.

The Olympic Gold Medalist earned several accolades throughout his career, including becoming a multi-time World Champion. Angle has also faced many legendary pro wrestlers in his career, which includes the likes of The Rock, The Undertaker and more.

While speaking with Grue Rume Show, Kurt Angle stated that he believes the Attitude Era had more overall stars than today, as nowadays only a few stars are known in AEW and WWE and the rest are not.

“Both companies [AEW and WWE] have a lot of talent right now. I wouldn’t say they have the talent that we had back in the Attitude Era. Back then, everybody was a superstar. Lower card guys, middle card guys, the Godfather, Val Venis, Bob Holly, guys that were midcard and opening card guys were huge stars. Now, there are five or six top guys in the company that everyone knows and everyone else is not as recognized. Back then, we had a special group of guys. Don’t get me wrong, the guys today, they are much more athletic and do a lot more crazy stuff, more flips and acrobatic stunts. Hopefully, they’ll hone that in and come back to the way wrestling was where you have wrestling moves and stuff like that, not just stunts. I think everyone is doing a good job today in WWE and AEW,.”

Kurt Angle also regretted not having huge merchandise sales like Steve Austin and John Cena. He also turned down a WWE Draft appearance. It remains to be seen what the future holds for Angle as a WWE return could happen.
