AEW has a lot of things in motion, but the roster for that company is very unpredictable. You never know when something might pop up to derail plans, and it appears that Tony Khan might have moved on from one feud without delivering their blow-off match.

Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland were aligned on AEW television, but then things took a turn when Strickland went heel. They teased a blow-off match between those two, but it was just never set up.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer was asked when Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland will wrestle to end their feud. That is when he stated that the company has moved on and there is no apparent plan to get those two back to each other at all.

“I mean, it’s been a year. They’re just not gonna do it. They’ve already made that call, they’re not gonna do it. So, I don’t know. The thing that’s so annoying about it is that it’s not like this was a quick angle, they spent months building up this angle and they never did a match.”

We will have to see if Tony Khan ever circles back around to Keith Lee vs Swerve Strickland. It certainly appears that Swerve got preoccupied in the meantime with Darby Allin, Sting, and Nick Wayne. That might have pushed Keith Lee to the back burner once again.

Only time will tell if AEW finally gives fans this match, but if it happens, then they will have a lot of backstory to pull from. That being said, it doesn’t seem like AEW found it necessary to finish things up for them at this point.
