AEW All Out is going down tonight in Chicago, and fans can’t wait to see what Tony Khan’s company pulls out of their hat. That night will be a long one, full of packed pro wrestling matches, but one match needed to be changed. In fact, you can click here for report on AEW’s actual plan for the All Out main event before CM Punk was fired.
During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Tony Khan had to change around plans for one match, because Billie Starkz couldn’t get cleared to compete in time. She was going to get a ROH Women’s Title match against Athena. Tony Khan wanted to use Billie Starkz in that Zero Hour kickoff show match, but Athena needed to be fit into a new match instead.
“So, the deal here is that Billie Starkz didn’t get cleared, because his original idea for the show was Athena and Billie Starkz, if Billie Starkz could get cleared for the ROH Women’s Championship. I’m not sure why he couldn’t have put, say, Shida against Athena in a championship match, but he didn’t.”
The match that they booked for the Zero Hour show instead is Athena, Mercedes Martinez, and Diamante vs. Hikaru Shida, Willow Nightingale, and Skye Blue. We will have to see how that match turns out for everyone involved, and Billie Starkz can come back ASAP.
