Dominik Mysterio Accuses Rey Mysterio of Trying to Overshadow Him With US Title Win

Rey Mysterio is a true veteran in the world of professional wrestling, and his influence in the industry is undeniable. He has done a lot for the business and won numerous titles over the years. He won the United States Title and it appears Dominik Mysterio accused him of trying to overshadow him with his United States Championship win.

Rey Mysterio squared off against Austin Theory for the title earlier this month. The Master of the 619 overcame the odds and defeated Theory to become the new United States Champion, as the LWO celebrated.

While speaking during his appearance on The Bump, Dominik Mysterio was asked if he feels any pride in Rey winning the US title. Mysterio instead accused his father of trying to overshadow him with his United States Championship win.

Not at all. I think it’s kind of sad that he feels the need to win a title to try and overshadow what I’m doing. But it doesn’t matter because he’s the United States Champion. I’m the champion of all of North America, which includes the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

I’m pretty sure I’m the only North American champion that’s ever actually taken this title to Canada, Mexico and the US. But I think it’s kind of sad that my dad feels the need to try and overshadow me with his singles title but whatever, he’s a deadbeat.”

Dominik Mysterio will return to NXT next week where he will be the guest referee for a singles match between Mustafa Ali and Dragon Lee. The winner will go on to challenge Dirty Dom at the NXT No Mercy special on October 1. We’ll have to see who will end up challenging Mysterio for the title.
