Bray Wyatt’s passing hit the entire pro wrestling world in a huge way. WWE released a statement, and a video tribute as well. Although Wyatt never wrestled in AEW, they also sent out their own statement.

Bray Wyatt’s cause of death makes this situation so much more tragic. He suffered from a heart issue, one that was improving, but then he suffered a heart attack that took his life. Now, the entire WWE creative process is on hold, and everyone is stricken with grief.

AEW released a statement after Bray Wyatt’s passing. The company stated that they are mourning along with the rest of the pro wrestling world.

“AEW joins the entire wrestling world in mourning the loss of Windham Rotunda, aka Bray Wyatt. A third-generation wrestler, Windham proudly carried on his family’s legacy by forging his own incredible path to superstardom.

“Windham’s unique style and persona showcased his passion for the industry and desire for innovation.”

“AEW sends its deepest condolences to Windham’s family, friends and fans. We are forever grateful for all his incredible contributions to the industry.”

Our thoughts are with Bray Wyatt’s family during this terrible time. JoJo Offerman has the support of the entire pro wrestling world right now. Support is even coming from companies that Bray Wyatt never worked for.

There were rumors that AEW and Bray Wyatt had some conversations about him coming in after WWE released him years ago. That obviously never came to pass, but that did not keep the company from sending out this touching tribute. We can only imagine the kind of homages that are to come.
