WWE Hall of Famer Edge found himself at the center of attention, potentially concluding his illustrious WWE career. In a captivating parallel, Disney+ unveiled an enticing teaser trailer that offered a glimpse into his forthcoming role in “Percy Jackson and the Olympians,” scheduled for streaming on December 20.

The teaser showcases Edge in a single scene, confidently bearing a sword across his shoulder.

Back in October 2022, the news initially broke that Edge would embody Ares, the formidable Greek God of War, in the highly anticipated television adaptation of Rick Riordan’s acclaimed series, “Percy Jackson & The Olympians.” Originating from the popular novels of the 2000s, the franchise previously spawned two cinematic renditions in 2010 and 2013. Disney assumed ownership of the “Percy Jackson” universe in 2019 as part of its acquisition of 20th Century Fox.

Edge has long displayed his versatility on the silver screen. His acting repertoire encompasses titles like “Bending The Rules,” “Interrogation,” and “Money Plane.” Furthermore, he’s etched his presence into the television landscape, amassing 42 episodes in “Haven” and 25 episodes in “Vikings,” among other projects both on screen and off.

A clash of schedules for “Percy Jackson” filming reportedly thwarted WWE’s intentions for Edge at the Royal Rumble premium live event in January. Rather than engaging in a rematch against Finn Balor, Edge emerged as a surprise entrant in the 30-man Royal Rumble match, prolonging his rivalry with Finn Balor that eventually culminated at WrestleMania 39.

With Edge potentially concluding his current WWE contract following his August 18 SmackDown match against Sheamus in Toronto, speculation mounts about his future in both wrestling and acting.

As September marks the official end of his contract, uncertainty looms over whether Edge will continue his storied in-ring journey or embark on new adventures in the realm of entertainment. There is even talk within WWE that he could be headed to rival promotion AEW once his contract officially runs out.
