WWE saw a big problem arise with their Women’s Tag Team Champions when Sonya Deville was injured. Since her injury, Chelsea Green made it clear that she is taking both titles, and she even wanted to audition for new partner. WWE had other plans.
Piper Niven popped up on WWE RAW this week, and she took that extra title belt from Chelsea Green. Then the two walked off as champions. This was a big move, and rather sudden, but it was also apparently official.
WWE was quick to update their roster page. Now, Chelsea Green and Piper Niven are listed as the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. This didn’t take long at all, and now we have new champions.
It appears that WWE didn’t want to run another tournament, and a match to determine Chelsea Green’s new partner didn’t happen either. It seems that a segment is all they needed to determine that Piper Niven is taking Sonya Deville’s spot, who actually took Carmella’s spot as Green’s partner.
We will have to see how things go from this point on. Chelsea Green is really showing her diversity, for sure, because they are switching up her partner every month or so at this rate. For more on this story, and many more, keep it tuned with us here at Ringside News.
