WWE NXT and AEW Dynamite used to battle for supremacy on Wednesday nights, but NXT ended up departing for Tuesdays. Many considered that AEW Dynamite won that war, but the fighting is not over yet.

Recent developments have shed light on WWE’s ambitions for NXT’s viewership, as the brand sets its sights on outperforming AEW TV in a specific aspect. In the past few weeks, a number of main roster superstars have made appearances for NXT, resulting in a noticeable infusion of star power into the brand.

Previous reports indicated a desire within NXT to achieve viewership figures that surpass those of AEW Dynamite. After all, WWE has been booking more and more main roster talent on NXT to boost viewership.

Dave Meltzer has provided additional insight into this matter during Wrestling Observer Radio. He said that WWE NXT is aiming to beat AEW Dynamite in the crucial 18-34 demographic. This underscores WWE’s aspiration to emerge victorious in this specific category.

“The thing I keep hearing is their goal, which is to beat Dynamite in 18-34 some week. Not this last week, but the week before, they were pretty close.”

Only time will tell what happens in this situation, as both television shows continue bringing content to fans each week. If anything, pro wrestling fans will certainly win as they have even more choice pro wrestling content to choose from.

Many considered that AEW won the war with WWE when Warner Bros Discovery gave them an extension. Now, we will have to see what’s next, because this could be a very complicated situation.
