Dustin Rhodes Responds To Accusations Of Racist Insults Backstage In AEW

Dustin Rhodes is considered a proper veteran in professional wrestling, after wrestling in the business for many decades now. Rhodes has seen the rise and fall of many companies and continued to push on no matter what. That being said, it appears he reacted to racist insult accusations backstage.

Indie wrestler LuFisto worked one match for AEW in April 2022 for an Elevation taping, where she teamed with Emi Sakura and The Bunny in a loss to Anna Jay, Ruby Soho and Skye Blue. She also mentioned a lot of drama backstage during her time in AEW.

While speaking with Fightful, LuFisto clarified who she was referring to as having allegedly called her “FN French Canadian a******”, which turned out to be Dustin Rhodes. She accused him of being racist backstage on the day of her match.

“I go to the restroom. As I open the door, I hear, ‘She something .’ I open the door and on the table, Ruby Soho is sitting with Dustin (Rhodes) and they just shut (up) and they look at me. ‘Okay, they were talking about me, that’s for sure.’

“(Ruby is) like, ‘I have to go.’ I go to Dustin and he goes, ‘So, all French Canadian people are f**king a******eh?’ I’m like, ‘Excuse me, what?’ He was nice to me five minutes ago. He’s like, ‘Yeah, apparently that’s the way it goes.’

“I have a very bad relationship with Jacques Rougeau. I can say he was even abusive to me, calling me to tell me I was fat and to lose weight. I’m like, ‘maybe he had a bad experience with Jacques too?’

“He’s looking at me differently and the funny thing is, (Evil Uno) walks by and he’s like, ‘Hey, Uno, that’s true French Canadians are f**king a******, right?’ Uno is like, ‘I’m French Canadian.’ ‘Oh, okay.’ They talk a little bit. I’m there, but I just leave.

“I’m like, ‘what the f*** just happened?’ I love Dustin. I even wrote him messages, thanking him for the Keep Stepping thing, because it was very inspiring. I’m like, ‘What the f**k just happened?’”

Dustin Rhodes took note of these accusations meted out by LuFisto and gave a very diplomatic reply, making it clear that he hopes she finds what she is looking for.

Dustin Rhodes will continue to be a well-respected member of the AEW locker room thanks to his contributions to the business and that will never change. Regardless, fans might not take these accusations seriously in the end.
