Grayson Waller established himself as one of the must-see stars during his time in NXT. The Australian WWE Superstar is such a natural heel that people can’t help but hate him for real. He had a solid match with Edge on Smackdown, which further raised his stock. Now it appears Michael Hayes told him something very bizarre after the match.

As seen on a previous week’s episode of Friday Night Smackdown, Grayson Waller held another segment of ‘his talk show ‘The Grayson Waller Effect’ and his special guest was surprisingly WWE Hall Of Famer Edge.

The segment eventually led to an impromptu match, where Edge stated it was a sink-or-swim situation for Waller. Edge would go on to beat Waller but then told the Australian star that he swam, putting him over even in defeat.

While speaking with The MMA Hour, Grayson Waller was asked if he was happy with his bout with the WWE Hall of Famer. He then disclosed that Michael Hayes told him ‘It’s all downhill from here.’

Not at all. People backstage were happy, people online thought it was a good match, but for me, I had been out of the ring for eight weeks, even longer, and I hadn’t been able to train at all because of schedule. I just felt I wasn’t at my best. I felt that was Grayson Waller at 60%. I’m not here to be good, I’m here to be great. Watching that match back was hard, but now that I’m starting to get back to 100% healthy, I’m going to improve on my performance. If I ever get in there with Edge again, I’m putting him down for good.

Michael Hayes told me, ‘It’s all downhill from here.’ [laughs]. He’s not wrong, I had John Cena at O2 Arena the week before. It was such an emotional rollercoaster after and you stress about it so much and think about it so much, and it happens so quickly. It was cool having some of my friends up there saying congratulations. The one that will stick with me is Michael Hayes saying, ‘it’s all downhill from here.”

Recently, reports have suggested that WWE is pitching major match for the Australian star. With the WWE SummerSlam Premium Live Event just around the corner, we’ll have to wait and see what WWW will have planned for the Australian star.
