WWE used to regard Madison Square Garden as their home venue. The company created tons of history in MSG, and they are set to return this Friday for SmackDown. That being said, things are always changing in WWE.

Puerto Rico and London just saw big events for WWE. Saudi Arabia is also getting a ton of attention whenever those events roll around. Sadly, Madison Square Garden doesn’t get the love they used to.

Wrestle Votes tweeted out to address a question about the recent Madison Square Garden event. He was told that treating an MSG show as special isn’t what the company really does anymore.

I was asked why doesn’t WWE set up MSG like it has Puerto Rico or London for this Fridays SmackDown? Considering tickets are white hot, I asked.

“It’s just not what we do” is what I got back. Think about that.

MSG will always be special for pro wrestling fans, especially for those who saw historic events live. WWE will continue running the world’s most famous arena, and those NYC fans will continue to attend.

What’s your take on WWE running Madison Square Garden? Does it feel special? Sound off in the comments!
