WWE has plenty of couples throughout the company, but it’s hard to deny that Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins aren’t a power couple. Despite their public relationship, there was a small bit of concern at first.
Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins may not be the first or the last power couple in pro wrestling history, but they certainly stand as prominent figures in WWE’s current landscape. As multi-time world champions in their respective divisions, their rise within the company happened around the same time. Their relationship blossomed in January 2019 and became public knowledge in April of the same year, solidifying their status as a formidable duo.
While speaking to Cosmopolitan UK, Becky Lynch was quite happy about how things turned out with her life. That being said, there were some reservations when they first started dating.
“When I first started dating Seth, I had certain reservations about it being public. Not being public from the standpoint of in case things didn’t work out — I knew fairly early on that he was the one and that there wasn’t a more perfect person for me out there. But I was worried about us getting involved in a storyline in WWE and how that would be received. Trying to figure out that balance, it was harder for me than it was for him.
“I often felt awkward, like I’m a certain way in our personal life and then I have to maintain a certain aura and a certain presence in the ring … I did struggle with that.”
Becky Lynch’s concerns became a reality after WrestleMania 35 when she and Rollins became part of a mixed tag storyline alongside Baron Corbin and Lacey Evans.
“Sure enough, we ended up in a storyline in WWE and it wasn’t the best,” Lynch said.
Their time as an on-screen duo was short-lived. Rollins made a heel turn by the end of 2019, and Lynch took a break from in-ring action in mid-2020 when she revealed her pregnancy, expecting their first child.
Their daughter, Roux, was born in December 2020, and Lynch and Rollins got married in June 2021. Now that Lynch has returned and both she and Rollins are back as prominent faces in WWE, it remains to be seen if they will collaborate in the future.
We will have to see if WWE writes any stories for Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins down the line, but they certainly got that out of the way already.
