John Cena Told Cody Rhodes He Could Be ‘The Champ’ Without Winning A Title

Cody Rhodes is one of the biggest Superstars in WWE right now and it was been building up since his return at WrestleMania 38 last year. Rhodes is clearly incredibly over and that was apparent for a long time now. Now it appears that John Cena gave him some great advice.

Cody Rhodes’ dreams were ruined after he was unable to defeat Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39, despite his best efforts. Right after that, he began feuding with Brock Lesnar and then began feuding with Dominik Mysterio.

At the WWE Money In The Bank Premium Live Event, Cody Rhodes squared off against Dominik Mysterio. Unsurprisingly, The American Nightmare was able to defeat The Judgment Day member.

The event also featured John Cena’s surprise return, which certainly shocked fans. While speaking doing the post-event media scrum, Cody Rhodes revealed the advice John Cena gave him after his shocking loss at WrestleMania 39.

“I’ve got a very specific task that’s in front of me… behind the scenes and on camera. John Cena told me ‘You could be the Champ without wearing the title but you have to be honest with yourself, look at the numbers on everywhere you go and everything you put out… if those numbers support that, you’re on the right path’, and I’ve been blessed. Momentum wise, there’s a task in front of me and I feel we’re on the right path.”
