Adam Cole had to miss Forbidden Door due to illness. A few days later, Britt Baker came down with the same issue, and she had to miss AEW Dynamite. The company didn’t have a ton of time to figure things out, either.

The quarterfinal match was originally planned to take place on Wednesday’s show, but Tony Khan announced that Baker is unable to compete, and the match will be rescheduled for next week. Soho, however, will still be participating in tonight’s episode.

Sean Sapp noted behind Fightful’s paywall that AEW didn’t have a lot of time to decide on a replacement for Britt Baker. The company was informed that the former women’s champion wouldn’t be able to wrestle 20 minutes before the show started.

AEW found out Britt Baker wouldn’t be able to compete about 20 minutes before the show.

We’ll have to see how this situation pans out. Obviously, AEW didn’t want to lose a Britt Baker match, but certain concessions needed to be made.

Britt Baker might go on to win another Owen Hart Foundation tournament this year. After all, she faced Ruby Soho in the finals last year. That match will go down next week on AEW Dynamite instead.

Britt Baker has a ton of fans who love seeing her wrestle, but were you bummed to see her miss AEW Dynamite this week? Sound off in the comments!
