Adam Cole was unable to perform in his scheduled match against Tom Lawlor at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door due to an illness. Reports indicate that Cole fell ill and experienced vomiting after attending a Comic Con event over the weekend and flying to Toronto, Canada, for the Forbidden Door show.

In an unfortunate turn of events, it appears that Cole’s wife, Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D., has also become unwell and is experiencing similar symptoms of vomiting. As a result, Baker was pulled from her scheduled Owen Hart Foundation Tournament match against Ruby Soho on the recent episode of “AEW Dynamite.” The match has been rescheduled to take place next Wednesday.

Despite his illness, Cole made his return to AEW programming on Dynamite in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. In a backstage segment with AEW World Champion MJF, MJF sarcastically congratulated Cole on getting sick for Forbidden Door. MJF then suggested that they hang out over the weekend, as he believes they got off on the wrong foot. Surprisingly, Cole agreed to the proposal. Both Cole and MJF are set to team up in the upcoming AEW Blind Eliminator Tag Team Tournament.

The illness has affected Cole’s and Baker’s appearances in recent events, but they are working through it and adapting their schedules accordingly. Fans will have to wait for their anticipated matches and see how their storylines develop in light of the unfortunate circumstances.
