Shawn Spears was known as Tye Dillinger in WWE and for the most part, fans viewed him as a severely underrated WWE Superstar. Dillinger had a lot of talent but the company simply didn’t know how to use him. In the end, he was released and made his way to AEW over three years ago. Spears has been absent for a while and now it appears he hinted at returning to AEW during their Canada tour.

Shawn Spears hasn’t been on AEW television since the October 13th, 2022 episode of Rampage, where he and FTR beat The Embassy. This is because he and his wife Cassie Lee welcomed their first child.

While speaking to Vibe 105.5FM Toronto, Shawn Spears was asked about his absence from AEW. Shawn Spears then hinted at returning as the Chairman during AEW’s Canada tour.

The Chairman is not gone. I will say that, The Chairman is just hibernating ,we’ll say for season. He will be back. You will see him again, so I’ll be swinging chairs again very very soon. I might even swing it this Canadian tour, who knows. Maybe I’ll swing it on the Canadian tour. Might be in Toronto on the 24th [Collision]. Might be in Hamilton on the 28th or 29th [Dynamite/Collision]. Maybe in Calgary, maybe I’ll swing it in Calgary, who knows.

We will have to wait and see whether Shawn Spears will show up within the next week, as fans certainly miss him. After all, AEW seemed to have good plans for him before his hiatus last year.
