Jeff Hardy just returned to AEW television a few weeks ago, and he’s just getting back into the groove of things. Now, Hardy is taking some time off, but there is a real reason for that absence that AEW doesn’t want to talk about.

Jeff Hardy made headlines after he was arrested for driving under the influence after leaving a local Dave & Busters. It simply got worse for him after that as well. This was his third DUI arrest in a decade as well.

That DUI situation is in Jeff Hardy’s past, but it still doesn’t change his status with international travel. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that, although Jeff Hardy is going to get a hiatus from the company, it wasn’t his call.

They did an injury angle on Dynamite on 6/21 with Jeff Hardy being beaten down by The Gunns, Juice Robinson and Jay White to cover for the Canadian tour since Hardy, due to his criminal record, is not allowed in Canada.

AEW has a few shows in Canada, and Jeff Hardy won’t be there. That being said, he will be able to make all of his commitments in the United States, even though he won’t have a driver’s license for a decade.

We will have to see what’s next for Jeff Hardy in AEW, obviously, he has a lot more to accomplish. He could also use the time off, and that is what he’s getting now, whether he likes it or not.

What’s your take on this situation with Jeff Hardy in AEW? Sound off in the comments!
