Tommaso Ciampa has a lot of eyes on him, and Triple H wanted to make sure his return to WWE television mattered. It seems that his booking wasn’t seen in the best way by everyone.

Tommaso Ciampa had been out of action due to an injury and underwent surgery for a torn hip labrum in October. His last match was actually on September 17th, and he was associated with The Miz during the time his injury.

During the latest episode of Monday Night Raw, Ciampa interrupted a promo by The Miz and proceeded to enter the ring after Miz issued an open challenge. Ciampa delivered a punch to Miz’s face and then proceeded to assault him at ringside, eventually sending him crashing through part of the announce table. The match that followed was a back-and-forth affair, with Ciampa ultimately emerging victorious by utilizing his finishing move.

While speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling’s Legion of RAW, Vince Russo remarked that there was no recap of Ciampa’s storyline with The Miz, making the comeback feel “very anti-climactic.”

“Very anti-climactic, especially because now I’m sitting here and saying to myself, weren’t these two tied nine months ago? How am I supposed to remember what happened nine months ago? How about you tell me that story first and maybe Miz hints that Ciampa is coming back or whatever the story is. But now he’s coming out, and I am like, ‘Bro I swore they did something a long time ago, but I can’t remember.’ They don’t cover it in the story, nobody says anything. So, no, this ain’t the way I am bringing Ciampa back.”

We’ll have to see how Tommaso Ciampa’s WWE career goes from this point on, obviously Triple H wants him to be strong. It appears that WWE will keep giving him a focus, so hopefully it makes Vince Russo happy eventually.
