Chris Jericho recently shared that he proposed a singles match in his hometown of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Jericho desired a rubber match against Kenny Omega, not only because they each had one victory over the other but also because Winnipeg holds significance for both of them.

Regrettably, the match never materialized. During an episode of Talk is Jericho, Chris explained that despite his efforts to make it happen, the match was hindered by the fact that Omega was part of the AEW World Trios Champions at the time.

“When we went to Winnipeg, Manitoba, I pitched Kenny Omega vs. Chris Jericho. But we couldn’t make it happen because of trios. Me, Danny [Garcia], and Sammy [Guevara] had to beat him, which was ridiculous. So, no singles match because ‘Kenny is in a trio.’ I mean, come on! This is Kenny Omega.”

Although they didn’t have a singles match, Omega and Jericho did have an encounter when AEW Dynamite visited Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, on March 15th of this year.

The Elite and The Jericho Appreciation Society were both involved in a three-way match for the World Trios Championships. However, neither Omega nor Jericho emerged victorious, as The House of Black ultimately won the match and retained the titles.
