WWE saw Cody Rhodes’ big return to win the Royal Rumble and carry on to WrestleMania 39. He might not have toppled Roman Reigns in the main event at the showcase of the immortals, but the American Nightmare is still going strong.
In recent events, after Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar’s feud is now a stalemate at 1-1, it appears that the former AEW EVP is moving on to his next challenge. Dominik Mysterio stepped up to Rhodes, and now, the two generational Superstars will do battle.
BWE noted behind his private Twitter account that WWE is currently looking at the whole situation, and they have a couple of options. Dominik Mysterio and Cody Rhodes will either battle in a mixed tag team match, or Cody will enlist in Seth Rollins’ assistance to take on Dominik Mysterio.
The setup is for CR v DMysterio at MITB. Two paths are discussed till Brock is back later for final showdown.
1) mixed match
2) temp alliance with whChamp to take out JD
This all seems to be a placeholder until Brock Lesnar returns. It is expected that Lesnar and Cody Rhodes will throw down in unique gimmick match at SummerSlam.
We will have to watch WWE and see how this storyline unfolds. Obviously, there are a couple of options that they can go with. It appears that all roads lead to Cody Rhodes and Dominik Mysterio having some sort of collision in the squared circle.
Seth Rollins and Finn Balor are supposedly going to battle for the World Heavyweight Championship at Money in the Bank. That match isn’t booked yet, but it very well could be coming down the line if the end of last week’s WWE RAW is any indication of things.
