Lacey Evans drew a lot of attention to herself when she jacked a bit of Sgt Slaughter’s legendary gimmick without his approval. This also gave Sgt Slaughter a new reason to appear on interviews as he spoke about how Evans disrespected him by copying his act.

Ringside News founder Steve Carrier tweeted out to say, “One of our readers sent word that @_SgtSlaughter appeared on Busted Open Radio just moments ago and said that @LaceyEvansWWE is using the Cobra Clutch without his blessing. He says it’s very disrespectful that she’s using his gimmick without his permission.”

Then Lock Betting replied in scathing fashion to comment on this situation. The Twitter account said, “See Chris Benoit knew how to respect the business. When he was thinking about what he wanted to do, he called Jimmy Snuka first to make sure he was stealing his gimmick. Jimmy was fine with it. These punks these days don’t respect those who paved the way.”

Sgt Slaughter then tweeted back to say, “Amen, brother” to Lock Betting. Obviously, he agrees that Chris Benoit went about things in a more professional manner than Lacey Evans did.

We will have to keep a close eye on this situation. Obviously, things are very tricky right now, especially when gimmick infringement was involved.
