Braun Strowman’s WWE release back in 2021 shocked the pro wrestling world, as fans couldn’t really understand how WWE could let go of a big star. Strowman made his return to WWE last year and has been part of Friday Night Smackdown. That said, it appears that Strowman admitted his WWE release was a hard pill to swallow.

On the August 24, 2015 episode of Raw, Braun Strowman made his debut on the WWE main roster as a member of the Wyatt Family, where he was immediately presented as one of the most dominant forces in WWE. It didn’t matter as Strowman was released from the company in November 2021.

Under the leadership of Triple H, Strowman was brought back to WWE and made his return on the September 5, 2022 episode of Raw. He was subsequently drafted to the SmackDown roster and remained there since.

While speaking to Fightful, The Monster Among Monsters talked about his WWE release. Strowman admitted that his WWE release was a hard pill to swallow but was ultimately just a bump in the road.

“We talked a couple of times, and I enjoyed my time away. As much as I did, at first, it was a hard pill to swallow, but it was something I realized I needed because, at the time, I was just mentally going crazy, not just with WWE but with everything in life.

So, it was an opportunity to take a step back and truly realize how amazing it is to work here and how truly blessed my career has been.

In the short amount of time of my first stint here, you name it, and I did it; Money in the Bank, Universal Champion, Tag Team, Andre, Intercontinental, whatever PPV I main evented, whatever building I sold out. So having that opportunity to take a step back and go, ‘Wow. I got to do a lot of stuff.’

But at the same time, I hated being gone. I love this. I’ve said it time and time again, I truly believe I was put on this earth to do this and for this company.”

Braun Strowman recently underwent neck fusion surgery and is now out of the hospital and making progress towards his recovery. We’ll have to see when Strowman will return to WWE television.
