Roman Reigns has established himself as one of the greatest pro wrestlers of all time thanks to his incredible character work. The Tribal Chief has dominated his opponents since his return back in 2020. He has fans all over the world, which is why it comes as no surprise that Reigns and even Paul Heyman were featured in a commercial for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Fans of Roman Reigns were eagerly waiting for him to reach 1000 days as the Universal Champion as WWE continued to hype it up. It happened last week just before Night Of Champions and even Roman Reigns felt no words were needed after the amazing accomplishment. WWE even celebrated Roman Reigns’ 1000+ day run as Universal Champion by unveiling new title for him.
The Olympics are a big deal for NBCUniversal, which is why they included Roman Reigns as part of the marketing campaign. The winter and summer games dominate in ratings whenever they take place and certainly helped NBC’s Peacock streaming service.
The Paris 2024 Olympics will be taking place more than a year from now, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t already starting to make promotional material for the event. The Olympics launched their ‘Save the Date’ campaign for next year’s event and this included Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman.
In the commercial, Pau Heyman boasted that Reigns would defend his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against anyone, anywhere, and anytime, until Reigns interjects him.
“Except next July”
The Paris Olympic Games are set to begin on July 26, 2024 and run for two weeks until August 11. There is more than a year for the event to begin and by then, the pro wrestling landscape might change significantly. We’ll have to see how the Olympics will turn out next year.
