AEW has brought in a few names that used to light up WWE television screens. Although they have pulled in some talent, and even broadcast team members, Mauro Ranallo has yet to make the leap. That is also not likely to happen.

As the debut of AEW Collision approaches on June 17th, Jim Ross has no idea who will be on that commentary team. We previously mentioned that Good ole JR is down to take that role.

During a virtual signing with K & S WrestleFest, Jim Ross was questioned about the commentary team for the Saturday night show. Obviously, that show is on a lot of fans’ minds right now.

When asked about the potential addition of former WWE commentator Mauro Ranallo to AEW, Jim Ross responded by stating that he was unaware of who would be handling the commentary duties for the show. That being said, it’s very unlikely that Mauro Ranallo will join AEW.

“He’s a friend of mine (J.R. said about Mauro Ranallo)… No (I don’t see him coming to AEW).

“He has mental health issues. He can help any organization, Mauro. Mauro Ranallo is that good. But he’s not a great traveller and that’s not knocking Mauro.

“It’s just he has issues that are more important than who’s doing Dynamite next week.”

Mauro Ranallo was allegedly bullied by JBL, and that caused his departure from the company. He returned to NXT for a stint, but they just couldn’t keep him around, despite the fact that Ranallo is one of the best commentators in the entire combat sports world.

We will have to see who AEW pulls in next that might have WWE on their resume. Obviously, there are a lot of choices out there, because WWE has released a lot of people over the past few years. Mauro Ranallo was never released, but he decided to leave WWE. Now, it appears that experiences might have ruined things for AEW.

What’s your take on Mauro Ranallo’s broadcasting style? Could he help AEW? Sound off in the comments!
