Young Rock tells the story of Dwayne Johnson’s upbringing, albeit with a bit of fiction and creative storytelling mixed in there. Still, fans love seeing this side of The Rock, but they might not get many more glimpses.

NBC currently has three series that are on the bubble and at risk of not being renewed, including Young Rock. At this time, the show is not on NBC’s upcoming lineup.

The second season of the show dove into Dwayne Johnson’s journey of becoming a professional wrestler and joining WWE, while the third season focused on the rise of his WWE career. Fans must be anxious about what’s to come, because the story was really just getting good for The Rock.

Young Rock stars Dwayne Johnson himself, along with Joseph Lee Anderson, Stacey Leilua, Adrian Groulx, Bradley Constant, Uli Latukefu, Ana Tuisila, Fasitua Amosa, and John Tui. The series features actors portraying Johnson’s parents, Rocky Johnson and Ata Maivia, as well as his grandparents, Roman Reigns, other family members, and various wrestlers.

Executive producers of “Young Rock” include Dwayne Johnson, Nahnatchka Khan, Jeff Chiang, Dany Garcia, Jennifer Carreras, Hiram Garcia, and Brian Gewirtz. The series is produced by Universal Television, Seven Bucks Productions, and Fierce Baby Productions. Nahnatchka Khan also just so happens to be sister of WWE CEO Nick Khan.

The third season premiered in November 2022 and concluded in February 2023 with 13 episodes. As of right now, there has been no official announcement regarding the show’s renewal for a fourth season. Young Rock originally aired on Thursday nights but was moved to Friday nights for its third season, which resulted in a decline in ratings. That move also put Young Rock in direct competition with WWE SmackDown on FOX.

No final announcement has been made about Young Rock’s future. At this time, we’re still waiting to see what NBC decides to do with The Rock’s autobiographical show. For more on this, and more stories like it, stay tuned with Ringside News.
