Pro wrestling can be filled with drama, especially behind the scenes. It seems that one long-standing beef has been squashed, as Shelly Martinez is no longer upset with Dave Bautista.

In 2017, Martinez made a statement suggesting that a backstage altercation with Bautista was the reason for her release from WWE. At the time, she was performing on the ECW brand under the name Ariel. Her final appearance for WWE was in 2006.

While taking to Twitter, Shelly Martinez surprised fans by uploading a photo of herself with Batista. She also included a nice caption that let fans know that she got over her problems with Batista, so the negative energy from fans should stop as well.

When people make fun of Batista to me it’s annoying. Just because I had an incident w him YEARS ago doesn’t mean I wanna make fun of him. It’s the past and VERY old news. We made amends and ended that negative energy a LONG time ago.

In case you’re keeping track, Shelly Martinez had a much different reaction to Batista’s name in 2017. She apparently still held quite a grudge on Drax the Destroyer.

The time has definitely come and one of the signs that I know that wrestling is done for me is a couple. I’ve been having a real hard time these last couple of months and ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ has been promoted and now is out. For those of you that know that me and Dave Bautista got in a fight backstage, that’s how I got fired – so it’s been interesting for me to drive around town and I see Dave Bautista’s face everywhere.”

“There’s a lot of healing that I did through all of that but I was finding myself getting depressed. I would wonder why am I depressed and I would backtrack my day and a lot of times it was triggered by Bautista.”

It’s good to see that Shelly Martinez doesn’t harbor any ill-will at this point in her life. There comes a time when everyone needs to put away past beef, so they can move on and not dwell on the past.

We’ll have to see if Batista speaks on this subject in the future. He is certainly not hard to find with the amount of media he does on a consistent basis.
