Cody Rhodes’ First Remarks After Beating Brock Lesnar at WWE Backlash

Cody Rhodes began feuding with Brock Lesnar after the post-WrestleMania 39 episode of Monday Night RAW, where Brock Lesnar absolutely decimated Rhodes. In the span of a month, both WWE Superstars took shots at each other. It all culminated in a match at WWE Backlash, which saw Rhodes beat Lesnar. Now it appears that Rhodes finally broke his silence after the match.

As seen in the main event of the Backlash Premium Live Event, Cody Rhodes faced off against Brock Lesnar. Rhodes was firing on all cylinders during the match, as he immediately attacked Lesnar while he was making his way to the ring.

While The American Nightmare had the upper hand at first, Brock Lesnar would end up dominating Rhodes with numerous German Suplexes. Towards the final stretch of the match, Cody drove Lesnar into an exposed turnbuckle and busted open Brock Lesnar.

In the end, Cody Rhodes countered a Kimura Lock by shifting his weight and successfully pinned Brock Lesnar for the win. Following the conclusion of the match, Cody Rhodes took to Twitter and left a short message.

Lesnar also got standing ovation after the event concluded. We will have to wait and see whether WWE has more plans for Cody Rhodes, now that he thwarted The Beast. Perhaps fans might get to see them duke it out again somewhere down the line.
