AEW is always looking to sign the best talent in order to bolster its already-deep roster. This has led to the company signing numerous big names in the industry, but they haven’t been used well all the time. Now it appears that the company was blasted for cooling off Jay White and Roderick Strong.

Since 2019, AEW has made sure they signed the biggest names in the business, signing the likes of CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, Jon Moxley, and Adam Cole. A lot of AEW’s signings have been touted as game-changers, but that is not always the case.

Jay White made his return to AEW television last month and immediately began a feud with Ricky Starks, but many felt he did not look like star whatsoever. On the other hand, Roderick Strong debuted on AEW last week and while fans were happy to see him, others believe he has no future in the company.

While speaking on Busted Open Radio, WWE Hall Of Famer Bull Ray talked about Jay White and Roderick Strong’s booking in AEW so far. Ray blasted Tony Khan for essentially ‘cooling off’ both stars.

“Not enough people on that show last night are super over… There are people there that they don’t know whether they should cheer or boo, i.e a Jay White… He’s already in this same situation that most guys that get brought into AEW with lots of pomp and circumstances find themselves in… You can cut this anyway you want, Jay White and Roderick Strong are on the same trajectory as everyone else that comes into AEW. Little bit of fanfare, and then immediately cooled off.”

We will have to wait and see whether AEW will be able to book Jay White and Roderick Strong in a way that truly shows off how great they are as stars. After all, fans just want to see them succeed in the company.
