Nick Aldis has returned to Impact Wrestling and is now coming for the Impact World Title, currently held by Steve Maclin. After making his return at the Rebellion pay-per-view, Aldis worked his first match at the recent Impact TV tapings, which should air on the May 11 episode, against Sheldon Jean.

Following his return, Aldis initially worked under a “short-term verbal agreement,” but this past week he signed a new contract with the company. The terms of the deal are unknown, but the plan is for Aldis to be in the top of the mix for at least the next several months.

According to a report by Fightful Select, the deal between Aldis and Impact is seen as a “feeling out process” for both parties. It has been noted that Aldis is more focused on having a positive impact on the company than on the status of his contract, wanting to see how things work before committing further.

Impact Wrestling plans to build towards Aldis vs. Maclin, with the potential of the match headlining the Slammiversary event on Saturday, July 15, in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. With Aldis’ previous success in promotions such as NWA and ROH, his addition to the Impact roster has generated excitement among fans, and many are eagerly anticipating the upcoming feud with Maclin.
