WWE will crown a new World Heavyweight Champion at Night of Champions on May 27th. That historic Saudi Arabian show is a month away, but the company has already started hyping it in a big way with a new title reveal. With Vince McMahon back in control, anything is possible.

We previously reported that Seth Rollins is the current top candidate to win the WWE World Heavyweight Title. After all, Rollins and Austin Theory were the only two Superstars to really throw their names in the running after Triple H’s announcement.

Ringside News reached out to confirm their plans for Seth Rollins, and we received a very interesting reply. A tenured member of the WWE creative team assured us that anything can still change at this point.

It was explained to us that, even if Seth Rollins is the top candidate right now, the new champion will be “the leading candidate that ends up with the title when Vince changes things.” That being said, Mr. McMahon could still change anything he wants at this point. After all, we still have a long way to go until Night of Champions goes down.

We were straight-up told that any attempted spoilers for Night of Champions is “stupid right now.” After all, Vince McMahon still has the power to switch around anything he wants. All we know at this juncture is that the new title is going to the brand that Roman Reigns doesn’t end up on after the 2023 WWE Draft.

Roman Reigns is an unbeatable champion, so the new title is being introduced as a way to get a top title on the other brand. Ringside News exclusively reported that USA Network is more concerned about locking down Roman Reigns than they are a new title belt as well.

This is a very interesting situation, especially with Vince McMahon still changing things whenever he likes. At this point, it’s really not safe to think that any plan is locked down, especially a huge decision like crowning a new champion.

What’s your take on Vince McMahon’s return to WWE? Was it best for business? Sound off in the comments!

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
