WWE is celebrating the 60th anniversary of the WWE Championship this week. The company has declared this week as WWE Championship Week on social media to mark the occasion. The WWE Championship is considered as one of the most prestigious titles in sports entertainment.

The championship was first won by “Nature Boy” Buddy Rogers on April 25, 1963. Since then, the WWE Championship has been held by some of the greatest wrestlers in history including John Cena, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, and Bruno Sammartino.

To celebrate the 60-year milestone of the title, WWE has kicked off WWE Championship Week, a weeklong celebration on social media.
