The world of professional wrestling is an ever-changing landscape, that has seen quite a lot of development over the course of several decades. That said, hardcore wrestling is still very much alive. Now it appears that an indie wrestler set himself on fire in a crazy spot during a recent event.

Professional wrestling is a hazardous sport as pro wrestlers put their lives on the line on a weekly basis for the entertainment of fans. This is especially true when it comes to hardcore and death matches.

During Xtreme Pro Wrestling’s most recent Killafornia event, XPW World Champion Masada competed in a match. However, what happened during the match ended up shocking fans.

As seen in the clip below, Masada set himself on fire when he drank some alcohol and blew right into a wooden stick engulfed in flames. Naturally, this completely shocked fans in attendance.

Masada was clearly in pain after the spot and was immediately attended to by referees and other personnel. Hardcore wrestling is a huge market in the business, but that does not mean a wrestler has to nearly kill oneself just to entertain fans. We hope such an incident never happens again in a pro wrestling ring.

What’s your take on this horrific incident? Do you think such spots should be banned from professional wrestling? Sound off in the comments!
