The LWO is back, and they are getting quite a spot on the WWE main roster. Legado Del Fantasma and Rey Mysterio are now a force to be reckoned with, but WWE has their reasons for putting this faction together.

Plenty of fans were excited to see Rey Mysterio hand out LWO t-shirts before his WWE Hall of Fame induction. While the team hasn’t collected any big wins yet, the fact is that they are still going to get a lot of attention. That being said, the LWO also isn’t getting the strongest treatment at this time.

PW Insider Elite noted that WWE has their reasons for putting this stable together. It was reported that the LWO will be utilized to help build up a Judgment Day match for WWE’s Backlash pay-per-view.

As for why the LWO is being utilized the way they are currently (basically being manhandled), we are told that it’s just part of bullding up Judgement Day for the Backlash PPV in May as part of the storyline with Bad Bunny and Rey Mysterio.  That said, in my opinion, they really need to get the Rhea Ripley vs. Zelina Vega story kicking off if they want that match, which is scheduled for the PPV, to mean something worthwhile.  Vega has been backstage at recent TVs and not even used to appear as part of the group, which makes zero sense.

We’ll have to see how the LWO is booked in the months to come. It is very possible that they could become a featured part of WWE programming, but a lot of things will play into that.

Obviously, fan reaction is going to have a lot to do with the LWO’s treatment. The fact that they are selling a lot of merchandise can’t hurt things for them. Hopefully, this version of the LWO will have a longer, and more fruitful run, than the original WCW stable.

What’s your take on the LWO’s treatment on the WWE main roster? Are they getting buried already? Sound off in the comments!
