Sasha Banks and Naomi’s WWE walkout in May 2022 resulted in a lot of headlines. While Naomi hasn’t arrived in another company yet, Mercedes Mone has a much different story. She might already be on her way to that next destination at this point.

The former Sasha Banks made her NJPW debut at Wrestle Kingdom in January. She then went on to win the company’s Women’s Title. Now as champion, her contract is ticking down.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer brought up Mercedes Mone’s current situation. It was said that she is in talks with NJPW about a new deal. After all, her current contract is up on Sunday.

“They are in negotiations for one more match. Her final match of her current contract is the match this coming Sunday at the Yokohama Arena against Mayu for the IWGP Women’s Title. I do not know if the deal is done. It was not done the last I was told, but she is in talks for one more date. I don’t know what that date would be. I don’t know if it would be Dominion or what exactly. That’s where her situation is right now.”

It doesn’t appear that Mercedes Mone has inked a new deal just yet. Then again, she also likes to keep her contract details close to the chest. She could also always be waiting on WWE to see if they have anything to offer her.

We’ll have to see what Mercedes Mone decides to do next. Obviously, the pro wrestling world will pay attention to her next moves. It is rather interesting, because STARDOM could also be on her bucket list as well.

What’s your take on Mercdes Mone’s next move in pro wrestling? Where do you think she will go next? Sound off in the comments!
