WWE has NXT around for a reason, to give Superstars of tomorrow a place to hone their craft. A few Superstars got to skip NXT on their way to the WWE main roster, and Dominik Mysterio was one of them. Of course, that didn’t stop WWE from considering an NXT run for Rey Mysterio’s son.

Dominik Mysterio lost to his father, Rey Mysterio, at WrestleMania 39, but that didn’t end their feud at all. As a member of the Judgment Day stable, Dominik Mysterio is getting plenty of screen time as he continues that story.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted, that while these plans are nixed now, there was some serious thought about sending Dominik Mysterio to NXT. It was not noted how long that run in NXT would have been, but there’s “no chance” of that happening now.

While there is no chance of this happening now, before the decision to start the Rey vs. Dominik program, there was serious thought given to sending Dominik to NXT

Obviously, WWE is not going to send Dominik Mysterio back to NXT right now. He is on an incredibly hot streak as member of the Judgement Day. It is still interesting to know that WWE was prepared to send Dominik Mysterio to NXT for a little of touch-up prior to things really blowing up for him.

We’ll have to see what’s next for Dominik Mysterio. A mask vs hair match against Rey Mysterio is always possibility. In the meantime, keep checking back with Ringside News for more on this, and every other story in the pro wrestling world.

What’s your take on Dominik Mysterio’s progress in WWE? Did he need to skip NXT? Sound off in the comments!
