WWE presented the showcase of the immortals last week, but WrestleMania was a big disappointing for some fans who hoped to see a Brood reunion. There is a very good reason why that didn’t happen, and Tony Khan’s company plays into it.

Christian Cage arrived in AEW at Revolution in 2021, after his WWE contract expired. He was written off WWE television thanks to Randy Orton, but his story in pro wrestling is far from over. Christian Cage is currently working as a manager for Luchasaurus as they continue their heel tandem.

Fightful Select noted that, while there were some strong rumors that he would be there, Christian Cage wasn’t at WrestleMania for a reason. It was said that Cage couldn’t be a part of the show of shows at all due to his AEW deal.

Despite unusual online speculation, those we spoke to said that Christian Cage as a part of Edge’s WrestleMania entrance wasn’t a realistic situation. Cage is still under AEW contract.

WWE had a lot of plans for WrestleMania 39 that were able to go off without a hitch. Bringing Christian Cage to the event, as great of a moment as it might have been, was simply not in the cards.

For that matter, Gangrel also revealed that he was never called about a WrestleMania surprise appearance. Edge had his Hell in a Cell match against Finn Balor by himself, without any other Brood members present.

What’s your take on this situation with Christian Cage and AEW. Is Tony Khan using his favorite childhood wrestler appropriately? Sound off in the comments!
