Brock Lesnar is sticking around WWE after WrestleMania. He made that very clear after he attacked Cody Rhodes on the RAW after WrestleMania, turning heel in the process. The two will throw down at Backlash on May 6th, and there’s a very good reason for that match.

PW Insider reports that Brock Lesnar was not on RAW this week, because he was on a family vacation. He will be on next week’s show, as WWE has already advertised. The Beast Incarnate will answer Cody Rhodes’ Backlash challenge.

To nobody’s surprise, Brock Lesnar is going to accept that match against Cody Rhodes. There is a reason why this match is going down in Puerto Rico and not Saudi Arabia, where they could garner a lot of cash for the matchup.

It was further reported that the Brock Lesnar vs Cody Rhodes match is taking place at Backlash as a promotional deal with Puerto Rico. The event will serve as a promotion for the area, and even more marquee matches are expected to be announced.

Ringside News exclusively reported that we reached out to confirm the report about a possible Brock Lesnar and Gunther program this summer. We were told by a tenured member of the WWE creative team, who knows the plan for Brock Lesnar, that, “it’s not Lesnar vs Gunther.”

Only time will tell what WWE adds to the Backlash card. It was already reported that Roman Reigns will not wrestle at the event. We’ll have to see which match headlines, but Brock Lesnar vs Cody Rhodes certainly has that possibility.

What’s your take on this situation with Brock Lesnar in WWE? Who will win at Backlash? Sound off in the comments.
