WWE is going through a huge shift in their internal landscape, and they rolled on through WrestleMania 39, all without AJ Styles. The former WWE Champion has been out of action for months, and it is likely that he has a long way to go in his recovery.

AJ Styles’ last match on WWE television took place on December 19th, 2022 when he lost a match to Sami Zayn. Then he went out with an ankle injury a few days later at a WWE live event.

AJ Styles said at the time that his ankle injury is legit, and it will also call for the longest break he’s ever taken from the ring. Sadly, the Phenomenal One hasn’t returned to WWE television yet.

Ringside News reached out to see if there is any update on AJ Styles’ status. We were told that no update on Styles has been given. He is still unavailable until further notice.

The University of Connecticut notes that a broken ankle recover can take at least six to twelve weeks for a broken ankle to heal. “It may be several months before you can return to sports at your previous competitive level.” Obviously, AJ Styles competes at a very high level, so he will need months to recover.

It is also important to note that once AJ Styles is cleared to compete, it can take weeks to get back into rotation for television. Only time will tell how long of a wait we’re looking at.

AJ Styles’ absence also halted any momentum for Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson. The Good Brothers have it in their WWE contracts that they don’t have to show up unless they are booked. That is why Gallows and Anderson haven’t been around, because they didn’t need to be.

What’s your take on this AJ Styles injury? Do you miss him a lot on WWE television? Sound off in the comments!
