For being such a consistent worker, fans now consider him the voice of WWE in many ways. Cole has also seen a career resurgence in the past few years, largely thanks to his partnership with Pat McAfee. Cole is also very passionate about his work and fans can see that often now. It seems his passion was on full display at WrestleMania 39 when Rey Mysterio spanked Dominik during their match.

Michael Cole played a significant part in Dominik Mysterio’s feud with his father Rey Mysterio as Cole had been mocking The Judgment Day member for tormenting his father for months.

Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio’s feud was one of the highlights of WWE television for a long time. It all culminated at WrestleMania 39, where they finally duked it out in a singles match.

One of the best spots from this match featured Rey Mysterio finally punishing his son in a big way. Mysterio took out his belt and spanked his disrespectful son multiple times, much to the delight of fans in attendance.

Even Michael Cole had a lot of fun watching Rey Mysterio finally teach his son a lesson. As seen in a viral clip, Cole stood up when Rey Mysterio pushed Dominik against the post and reached for his belt and screamed in joy when the Master Of The 619 finally started spanking his son. Michael Cole even stated that the spanking was a long time coming.

“Oh yeah! Oh yeah! Dominik deserves it. Long time coming.”

Michael Cole’s over-the-top reaction to Rey Mysterio spanking his son became an instant hit and just showed how passionate Cole can be when he is fully invested in a particular storyline. We’ll have to wait and see whether Michael Cole will continue to be as passionate for further storylines.
