Sean Sapp reported behind Fightful’s paywall that WWE decided on Roman Reigns winning the WrestleMania Sunday main event, but kept it a very close secret. That being said, there were people who knew what would happen “weeks ago.”

There were people within WWE who began to defend the idea of Roman Reigns winning this past week, and there were some murmurs that he would win last week. Now, we’ve confirmed that the plan for Reigns to emerge victorious was set and several people were aware of it several weeks ago. We’re not told when the talent were informed.

Roman Reigns will continue as Undisputed WWE Universal Champion as the company changes hands to Endeavor. That could result in some interesting moments down the line, especially if they can get Conor McGregor involved.

Cody Rhodes’ story will continue, and he already addressed that idea before the showcase of the immortals. Now, the big question is where everyone goes from here, but Roman Reigns made it clear in the press conference after WrestleMania that they are only in their 3rd inning of the saga.
