WrestleMania 39 is coming up in a matter of hours, depending on when you’re reading this, and the WWE Universe can’t wait to see what goes down in SoFi Stadium. Rey Mysterio is set to battle his son, Dominik Mysterio, at the show of shows, but WWE has other plans for those two.

Father/son stories in WWE don’t come around very often. After all, Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio were the first father and son team to win tag team titles in WWE. Those two have put on quite an angle leading to WrestleMania, and they’re not finished yet.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has plans for Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio after WrestleMania 39 goes down. The report went on to break down the match, and share the betting odds, which lists Dominik as a favorite to come out the winner in that one.

This is not a one and done. So Dominik could either win, or he could lose but then come back leaving Rey laid out to keep this going.

Rey is one of the best ever and knows his job in this feud and match is to make his son a star. And that’s the goal of the match, to make Dominik a superstar heel. He doesn’t necessarily have to win the match and part of Mania is putting faces over and blow-offs. In this case, that shouldn’t be the goal. Dominik is the -170 favorite to win.

WWE is looking to hold the best event they possibly can this year for WrestleMania. With so many important stories going down on the grandest stage of them all, it stands to reason that WWE doesn’t want to end everything at the showcase of the immortals.

Dominik Mysterio is having a blast as part of Judgment Day. Only time will tell if he ever reunites with his father once again, but he will probably be on hand in some form or fashion during the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony to see his father’s induction.

Which match are you looking forward to most at WrestleMania? What’s your take on Dominik Mysterio and Rey Mysterio’s feud? Sound off in the comments to let us know what you think!
