A few months after announcing his retirement from the WWE, Vince McMahon sent out a shocking press release highlighting why he should return to the WWE. Within a few hours after that press release went out, WWE put out a press release confirming his return to the company.

Since then, many have wondered what Vince McMahon’s role in the company is. While WWE has stated many times that Vince isn’t involved in the day-to-day operations of the company, fans seem doubtful if it will remain that way.

WWE CEO Nick Khan recently did an interview with CNBC where he was asked if Vince McMahon wanted to be a part of the company’s sale. Nick replied that he was unsure about Vince’s future in the WWE.

“I’m not sure. That’s more a question for Vince. Since he’s been back, it’s been about three months or so in the Executive Chairman role. It’s been quite supplemental to myself, to our Head of Creative, to all of our other executives to have the expert of this business here when we want to reach out to him and have conversations. But I’m not sure exactly what he wants his future to hold.”

There have been rumors since Vince McMahon’s return that WWE is looking to potentially sell the company ahead of its media rights negotiations. While several names have cropped up in WWE’s list of potential buyers, there has been no official confirmation from the company.

For now, it looks like Vince McMahon is still taking a hands-off approach but the bigger question remains whether he will able to keep himself away from the day-to-day operations of the business. Until then, stay tuned to Ringside News.
