AEW held their House Rules event in Troy, Ohio last week and it was a huge success in many ways. It featured the stars such as Jon Moxley competing and even Pat Buck. Now it seems Eric Bischoff believes the company will be very successful with their house shows.

The company’s second-ever house show took place on March 18, with the first one happening at Daily’s Place during the COVID-19 pandemic. During the event, Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli emerged victorious over Big Bill and Lee Moriarty in the main event. The show received positive feedback from many people, including WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff.

While speaking on Strictly Business, WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff expressed his support for AEW’s decision to move forward with house shows, saying that it could bring positive business opportunities.

He added that he believes the tour will be a success, and only time will tell how successful it truly is. He also explained that the real test of AEW’s non-televised touring will be when they start revisiting markets, which will help them gauge the viability of their Live Event business.

“I think it’s great. I think there is nothing but positive upside potentially, business-wise we’re going to find out … I think it’ll be a very successful effort.

The real test is going to come if this tour is successful and it continues beyond the first six months or the first whatever, I don’t know what the time frame is. It’s when you start coming back to markets that you really begin to see how viable your Live Event business is.”

AEW does not have another House Rules event scheduled until the summer, with the next one taking place on July 15 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada during their Canadian loop. On the other hand, WWE continues to run Live Events throughout most of the year. As AEW continues to expand and grow, their success with these house shows could be a critical factor in the company’s continued growth and success.
