Saraya, often hailed as trailblazer in the realm of female professional wrestling has garnered significant accolades throughout her career with WWE. After her contract with WWE was not renewed, she joined AEW, where she remains an active and formidable competitor. That being said, it seems Saraya considered leaving WWE after she was bullied in the locker room.

Saraya faced a tough time when she joined Vince McMahon’s promotion back in 2011. After years of competing on the independent European circuit, she was thrilled to have been signed by the company, but little did she know that her time in the promotion’s developmental territory, FCW, would be filled with adversity.

Despite being an experienced wrestler, Saraya’s colleagues were allegedly intimidated by her and started bullying her. In a recent WWE Biography episode, the former Divas Champion revealed that she was only shown kindness by Summer Rae, while the other girls were just plain awful to her.

“I came in with previous wrestling experience and some of the girls were intimidated by that… The only person that was nice to me was Summer Rae… I remember they used to throw my sh*t out of the locker room… they told me I had to do my stuff in the shower and they were just awful.”

Saraya’s father recounted the heart-wrenching phone calls he received from her for several months where she would break down in tears. He encouraged her to persevere, saying that this was her big moment and that she would be tested. Fortunately, she overcame the bullying and went on to become a top star in WWE.

“I remember calling my mom and dad for like three or four months and I was crying my eyes out. These phone calls were really frequent at the start until she settled in. Many times she wanted to come home. All I’m saying is ‘give it time, it’s your big moment. They’re gonna test you.”

Despite the obstacles she faced, Saraya’s determination and resilience helped her to succeed in the wrestling industry. Her story serves as a reminder that sometimes it takes strength and courage to persevere and that one should never give up on their dreams, no matter how tough the going gets.
