Chris Jericho Thinks He Would Have Retired If He Hadn’t Left WWE

Chris Jericho is undoubtedly a seasoned veteran in the world of professional wrestling, with career spanning over three decades. With such extensive experience, Jericho is definitely aware of his own value within the business. In fact, he might have retired had he not left WWE.

Before signing with AEW, Chris Jericho has competed in almost every major pro wrestling company including WCW, WWE, NJPW and others. He especially made a name for himself in WWE.

Chris Jericho joined AEW in January 2019 following his departure from WWE in 2018 and subsequent return to NJPW. In fact, Jericho might not have even wrestled anymore after his last stint in WWE.

While speaking to ET Canada, Chris Jericho revealed that joining AEW helped reignite his passion. Jericho added that he might have just retired if he still stayed in WWE.

“It was a little bit of a risk to come here. I could have stayed in WWE and been comfortable for the rest of my career. And if I had done that, I don’t know if I’d still be wrestling today because I was very just mentally like, ‘Eh, whatever.’

AEW kind of reignited my passion and reignited my creativity. It took things to the next level all across the board. I think 2022 was a career year for me as a result.”

Chris Jericho recently stated that WWE is ‘not the place to be’ and that he has no intention of returning WWE. Regardless, we’ll have to wait and see what’s next in store for Chris Jericho in AEW.
