Crunchyroll, the premier anime destination for global fans, hosted the seventh annual Crunchyroll Anime Awards in Tokyo, Japan, with winners announced across 29 categories. The highlight of the event was the announcement of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners as the Anime of the Year.

Zelina Vega presented Anime Awards to Kaguya-sama: Love Is War -Ultra Romantic- for Best Romance and to “The Rumbling,” SiM, Attack on Titan Final Season Part 2 for Best Anime Song. She also dazzled fans on the red carpet before the show.

The star-studded event was live-streamed for the first time, with presenters from across entertainment and sports. The presenters included directors Justin Lin and Robert Rodriguez, actors Finn Wolfhard, Hunter Schafer, and Jacob Bertrand, sports superstars Juju Smith-Schuster, Aidan Hutchinson, and WWE’s Zelina Vega, top streaming talent Valkyrae and Sykkuno, and Japanese talent Haruka Kaki, Kendo Kobayashi, Roland, and Sawa Suzuki. The Anime Awards were hosted by voice actress Sally Amaki and popular entertainer Jon Kabira.

Crunchyroll also made exciting announcements during the event, including a new music initiative in partnership with Sony Music Entertainment, featuring more than 100 full-length live concerts, 3,200 music videos, and over 250 artists from Sony Music Entertainment (Japan) Inc. (SMEJ) on its platform starting from today. There were obviously a lot of big things happening for the Crunchyroll brand, and Zelina Vega, who is also a longtime subscriber to the service, was more than happy to be around to see it all go down.

Zelina Vega’s appearance at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards was a testament to her love and dedication for anime, a genre she is passionate about. As a WWE Superstar, Vega is a recognizable figure, but it is her genuine appreciation for anime that resonates with fans around the world.
