The lineup for WrestleMania 39 is looking promising, and the event is only a few weeks away. There have been a few matches advertised, though, that have not at all piqued the curiosity of the crowd. One of those matches is Brock Lesnar vs. Omos. According to rumors, Vince McMahon may have been the one to pull the strings for the match to come to fruition.
The Nigerian giant Omos challenged Brock Lesnar to a match at WrestleMania 39 last week on RAW. This week, The Beast Incarnate, Brock Lesnar accepted his challenge. Omos fell to Braun Strowman in their match at Crown Jewel last year, thus Lesnar’s followers scarcely see him as a threat. However, Lesnar’s potential seems to be wasted in the match, which appears to be a novelty.
Wrestling Observer Radio’s Bryan Alvarez speculated that Vince McMahon might have orchestrated the contest. He said that Brock Lesnar may have requested the match from McMahon, who then secured Triple H’s approval. Although it was the desire of the public, WWE never intended for Lesnar to confront GUNTHER at WrestleMania.
”That to me is the glaring red flag that Vince is back. One random match where they decided to put Omos with Brock Lesner. Yeah. Vince. Vince, you know, he may have talked to and then Brock talked to Hunter and then they decided this is the match we want to do or whatever.”
Due to his involvement in hush money scandal that was keenly watched by the professional wrestling industry, Vince McMahon attracted a lot of media attention in the previous year. After a protracted absence, Vince McMahon returned and usurped his position as WWE’s executive chairman.
A WWE star contacted Sean Sapp of Fightful Select earlier and revealed that Vince McMahon is once again working with the creative team, as indicated in his most recent update. Sources in WWE have denied the claim that Vince McMahon is back in charge of creative, but the writing remains on the wall.
With the lackluster bout between Omos and Brock Lesnar made official for WrestleMania 39, it seems very apparent that Vince McMahon might be influencing the creative process again. We will have to wait and see what unfolds next on the road to WrestleMania 39.
