WWE is always looking to lock down terms that they want to use later on. They have a lot of properties and ways to make revenue from those names. There’s no reason for WWE to stop locking those trademarks down, and they also threw an interesting gimmick match into things as well.

WWE filed several interesting trademarks on December 23rd, 2022, Those trademarks included the terms “Jailhouse Street Fight,” “WWE NXT, “Royal Rumble,” “Money In The Bank,” “Elimination Chamber,” and “Fatal 4-Way.”

WWE obviously wants to lock down big name events like Elimination Chamber, Money in the Bank, and the Royal Rumble. NXT is also a name that they want to keep exclusive to the company, since they invest so much money into their developmental brand.

We’ll have to see what plan WWE has for a Jailhouse Street Fight. The idea of streets in a jailhouse is rather counterintuitive, but WWE has their own logic.
