Ever since leaving WWE for AEW, FTR has been on top of their game. They have proved consistently that WWE made a big mistake by not pushing them as much as they should have. FTR’s consistent performance in the ring continued into 2022 where they had one of their best years in the business, winning the ROH World Tag team Championship, NJPW”s IWGP Tag Team Championship, and the AAA World Tag Team Championship. At one point, they held all those titles simultaneously.

Hence, it should come as no surprise that when the Wrestling Observer Newsletter announced their year-end awards, FTR’s name was atop the tag team list as they took home the award for the tag team of the year and feud of the year with The Briscoes.

Following the awards announcement, Dax Harwood took to Twitter to share the incredible achievement with their legion of fans.

“Tell me April’s around the corner without telling me April’s around the corner,” tweeted Dax Harwood.

FTR wasn’t the only AEW wrestlers to win an award. Bryan Danielson was named Best Technical wrestler while Jon Moxley won the award for Wrestler of the Year, United States and Canada MVP, and Bruiser Brody Memorial Award.

MJF, on the other hand, was named best on interviews and most charismatic. AEW Dynamite won the award for best weekly television show while their AEW X NJPW: Forbidden Door show was named Best Major Wrestling Show. Stay tuned to Ringside News as we bring you similar stories.
